sleep

Logan has been having a lack of sleep for the last month or so. He has been getting up 1-3 times a night to "go pee" {or pretend to have to pee} and then comes and taps Dallas on the shoulder b/c he needs help putting his pants back on.

And then he gets up by 6:30 am and wakes the other boys up in some form or another.

A little frustrating!

So we've been doing a little brainstorming as to the causes...

The first cause COULD be: His afternoon nap is making him less tired at night. He easily naps a good 2-3 hours every afternoon and he does need it or he's zonked out later in the afternoon...but we've been trying to not let him nap every other day or so, or just a really short nap.

The second cause COULD be: He's cold at night and wakes up from that. It's getting to be winter here in Guadalajara...meaning that now we are down to about 9 degrees during the night. That makes for a chilly house when it's made of brick and there is no source of heat in the house! None of our boys will sleep with a blanket over them, so I thought maybe he's a little cold which makes him wake up. So now we are trying having him wear nice warm fleecy pj's.

The third cause COULD be: Too many liquids before bed and he wakes up and the slightest hint of any pee in his bladder. The solution obviously is less liquids before bed!

Anyhoo...which one is it?? Not sure...but he has been getting up less the last week or so. Normally he has now been getting up just early in the morning to go pee, around 6:30 am, but at least the middle of the night wake ups are pretty well gone.

I'm not ready for a 2nd child to have no day time naps!! So I'm fighting to keep that and trying to come up with other reasons :-) but if we're out and about...no nap for Logan definately makes it easier to stay out at that time.
