Friendships

 Just some pictures to update on the past number of days! Most of these pictures you have likely already seen if you're on our facebook, but I like to also document here on my blog :-)

Every 6 weeks or so our different cell groups get together for a lunch and convivencia - which literally means "living together" or hanging out - as well as for a time of sharing and praying together. So this last Sunday we met up at the park that is just a block from our house. What beautiful weather and what a relaxing afternoon!

This is a really large park and there are several areas with play structures and these covered table areas, but you need to get there EARLY on weekends if you want to reserve a table. Dallas went to the park at 8 am to save a table and he said that by 9 am they were all taken, and he had several requests from people asking to have his table as he sat there :) the rest of us arrived a little later and the fun began.

We also rented a trampoline for the day from the park...you pay and drag it to the area of the park that you want. You can even drag it to the other side of the park...several km's away. Go for it....or tip some of the workers to help you out.

I love renting a trampoline here though, especially on weekends as the park is so full. This keeps the kids contained and happy for literally hours so there's not the constant head turning and searching the play structure to make sure all of your kids are there.

One thing that is common in Mexico is a carne asada - a bbq usually with some beef, tortillas, salsa, etc.

 After we hung out and ate and visited, Dallas led a time of sharing and prayer.

 It's kind of neat sitting there praying in the middle of the park, surrounded by so many people. I often wonder how many notice what we're doing and whether it peaks their interest, but it's a good opportunity to pray for them and interact with them...like when we forgot a lighter to light our bbq's, we go over and ask another group of people if they have one we can borrow.

Earlier in the week I was asked to make a cake for the daughter of a friend so they came over to help. Our neighbour girl, who also is in our cell group, came as well. It was a lot of fun as we all came up with ideas and baked! I love this pic...a Canadian, an Indian girl, and a Mexican :-) this blending of cultures is interesting and fun.

Dallas has been the pizza guy since he was in high school (I think..) so since he was at home working in the office the day we were baking, he came in and made us some pizza!
