Bedtime

We do have a bedtime routine when we put the boys to bed, and it all depends on how rushed the getting to bed part is as to how long the bedtime routine goes...

If we get in late, the boys usually get some pj's thrown on, go pee, and go straight to bed. Often if we're driving home after it's dark Carter will ask "or we going straight, or do we get a book?"

Straight meaning, straight to bed.

But a usual night is

Put pj's on
Go pee
They each book a book to read
They each pick a song or two or more
They each pray
Dallas and I each pray
Kisses all around
say "good night, love you"  all around

We dare not miss the last 2 steps no matter how rushed, as otherwise they'll be yelling from their rooms until we come back "You didn't say good night, love you!!!" "I need a kiss!!"

Tonight at bedtime Carter helped read the Mercer Mayer book he picked - All by Myself. And wow, he could read over half of the book! Some words we had to help him with but he can practically read it. yikes.

Brady most often misses this bedtime routine, we usually change him into pj's, give him a smooch, and lay him in bed beforehand.
