going alone

Carter and Logan are finished 3 days of school now and it has been going so well!

Carter has just been back in there like he never left, and loves his new teacher and knows all the kids already so it's just party time for him. A new thing he already started learning today was writing "fancy"...which I assume means writing, instead of printing.

And Logan looooves it! He has been singing new songs at home that he's been learning at school and he said he was learning to write his name today. Normally we have to drop the kids off at the front gate of the school, as unless you have a meeting or special event, you're not allowed into the school area for safety reasons. This week though we can take them right to their class as it's the first week. Well today Dallas just said good-bye to Logan at the gate and he walked right in with Carter :-) it is such a feeling of thankfulness when we can start the school year this way.

I remember when Carter was 3 1/2...same age that Logan is...and started 2nd Kinder back in Delicias, it was harder for him. That was an all Spanish school and he didn't know Spanish at that point, so it took him a couple of months to break out of his shell. It also helps a ton that Logan has an older brother to look up to and to lead the way. Logan is so super proud of wearing his backpack and putting his lunch kit around his neck in the way that Carter has told him "all the kids do it" :-)

It also seems that Brady is enjoying being at home alone in the mornings! This was really the first morning, as Monday and Tuesday we had missionary team meetings all day, but he was super happy this morning...and wanting a lot of attention :-) that will be the difference with no brother around to play with...
